We struggled with the heartache of not having that special someone to celebrate and romanticize with, so we filled the gap with Galentine’s Day. This was meant to make everything better by ditching the idea and focus of the significant other and instead highlighting “girl power” and “sisterhood”. However, since COVID, we seem to have withdrawn and grown more comfortable being alone – or maybe being with others on the holiday of love just isn’t an option. The day isn’t lost. In fact, a new spin on the meaning behind Valentine’s Day can play a part all year long. L-O-V-E. That’s what it’s all about, right?
What if there was an added meaning to that word? One that could impact relationships, but more so how we live and feel about ourselves?
This year, there is a call to “LOVE” in a new way.
Live, Optimistic, Valued, and Empowered
This isn’t just another “self-love” technique or suggestion. It is a mindset. It is a choice about how you wake up, end the day, and take on life’s challenges. Each one of us can love in our own unique way.
Live – Take each day as a new start. Live it, embrace it – don’t just get through it
Optimistic: Live each day with positivity and hope. Believe that you can reach your goals and that things will get better.
Valued – Live each day, each moment, knowing you have a purpose. There is only one of you. You are important to others, and “life” in general would not be the same without you in it. You deserve respect and care.
Empowered – You are strong and capable. You are determined. You have overcome challenges before, and you can do it again. Life isn’t always easy – reach out for help when you need it. Strong women need to allow weak moments sometimes in order to remain strong.
Finding the Right Mindset
This is a mindset: Live optimistically, valued, and empowered. When we strive for this each day, we can feel or be loved, whether we are with a significant other, hanging out with the girls, or spending time alone.
At Birthright St. Charles, we support the mindset and lifestyle of love. We’re here for you during the challenges of pregnancy or life in general, reminding you of your value and strength. Together, we work to instill the hope and belief that love is always possible in life—every day of the year.
