There’s something incredibly strong about a working mom. Balancing a job, a home, and a pregnancy (or new baby) isn’t easy, and we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of women doing exactly that.
At Birthright St. Charles, we believe working moms deserve real, practical support, not just encouragement, but help that meets them where they are.
Here’s what that looks like in action:
Real Help When It’s Needed Most
In 2025, we provided over $214,000 in direct financial assistance and services to women in our community. Because every situation is different, this support is offered on an as-needed basis, guided by a qualified mental health professional who helps assess each woman’s needs.
For working moms, that can mean help covering rent during unpaid maternity leave, support during time off to care for a newborn, or extra counseling when life feels overwhelming.
Helping Women Reach Their Goals
Motherhood doesn’t cancel dreams. We’ve helped women continue their education, complete certifications, and adjust class schedules so they can welcome a baby and keep moving forward.
Connecting Moms to Their Community
No one should have to figure it all out alone. We help connect women to local resources—like food support, childcare, school supplies, and holiday programs, so they have a stronger foundation at home.
Ongoing Emotional Support
Sometimes, what a mom needs most is someone to check in and truly listen. Our trained volunteers provide consistent encouragement, follow-up, and care—because juggling work and motherhood can be a lot, and no one should carry that alone.
In addition, our licensed professionals are able to help navigate post-partum challenges and adjustments to help provide a smooth transition to motherhood and from motherhood back to work.
Advocating for Working Moms
We believe women shouldn’t have to choose between their job and their baby. We’ve helped moms find more supportive employment, secure insurance, and access the medical care they need to move forward with confidence. Childcare can be a challenge, our staff works with women to help find reliable, safe childcare that allows them to maintain employment.
Because She Can Have Both and Deserves it
A career. A family. Support along the way.
Working moms are doing something incredible every day being an example of the power of pregnancy and the strength in motherhood. Birthright St Charles is here to walk right beside them taking it one step at a time.
