Home-based support, also called ‘field service’, is provides those clients who feel they could use an extra bit of support with the unique opportunity to experience ongoing mentorship and encouragement within the comfort of their own homes or a public location convenient to them.
Essentially, clients will receive home visits from a highly trained and deeply supportive member of the Birthright Volunteer Staff. These visits are scheduled in coordination between the client and the volunteer’s schedules and can occur as often or as little as needed, based on what is decided by the client and her counselor.
Some of the questions/concerns that can be addressed during a home visit include:
- Household budgeting
- Concerns or questions regarding child care
- Parenting/How to deal with sibling rivalry
- How to best implement self-care as a mom
