Meet The Counselors At Birthright St. Charles

Each and every client who walks through the doors of Birthright St. Charles is met with the opportunity to access completely free and confidential services, including professional counseling provided by one of our masters-level, licensed counselors. Each of our counselors are professionally trained to assist clients by honestly and compassionately walking alongside them in their decision process and working to meet whatever needs they may be facing today.  As March is Women’s History Month, we are honored to be able to spotlight these four women who continue to make history in our community through their empathy and dedication to those in need.

Meet Sheri P., MSW, LCSW 

Sheri is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s degree from Washington University. She has been a counselor at Birthright since 2003 and currently serves as the Director of Counseling and Executive Director in addition to her role as a counselor. Sheri has 20 years of varied experience in crisis, adolescent, family, and women’s issues.  She believes in the inherent value and purpose of every person, which is part of the inspiration behind her decision to pursue social work. She considers it a true honor to work with the strengths of so many different people in varied situations to help them see solutions within themselves. Sheri values her role at Birthright as an opportunity to use her clinical skills to offer non-judgmental support and counseling to women facing a challenging life circumstance and is motivated to have each client’s experience at Birthright to be uplifting and positive. Sheri’s personal interests include reading, black and white movies, going for walks and spending time with family and friends.

Meet Terry B., LCWS

Terry is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Terry has worked in the field of clinical social work counseling families and children since 2008. She has 22 years of diverse social work experience which includes child welfare, early childhood, housing, substance abuse and mentoring. Terry’s pursuit of social work was inspired simply by her want to help others. She has a great deal of sensitivity and empathy for those struggling with poverty, mental illness and lack of support. Terry enjoys the opportunity to help pregnant women from all backgrounds understand their options utilizing a personalized approach for each client. She truly feels called to this line of work and is grateful to God for the opportunity to be in this field. Her hobbies include book club, crafts, baking and being a Grandma.

Jennifer, PLCPJennifer, PLPC

Jennifer is a provisionally licensed professional counselor with a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. She is excited to use her education to work with the clients of Birthright. She has a passion for helping women feel empowered to make their own choices. She believes people are the experts of their own lives. She uses a compassionate, non-judgemental approach in supporting women in their journey, whatever path they  may choose. Jennifer enjoys spending time with family, reading, walks outside, and playing with their family's puppy.

Meet Beth, LPC

Beth is a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Webster University. She has worked as an adolescent counselor and teacher and has been with the Birthright team since 2011.  Her drive and passion for people have always been in the forefront in her life, seeing the good in others and inspiring others to experience hope. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, game nights, laughing hysterically, and running around with her little ones. She loves that Birthright's work focuses on aspiring to bring hope to women and children who feel they don't have it and is grateful to be part of these efforts through the utilization of empathy and respect for all in a professional counseling setting.

Taylor, PLPC

Taylor is a provisionally licensed professional counselor who has experience helping clients through domestic violence, sex trafficking, teen pregnancy, women’s issues, anxiety, and depression. One of her biggest joys in life is having the privilege of getting to know clients and helping them have confidence in their full potential to get through difficult times. Taylor believes that each client has innate worth and is excited to use her experience to empower clients at Birthright to make their own choices. She is sensitive to the role that trauma may have had in an individual’s life and is committed to helping clients find freedom from its influence. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, board games, working out and cooking with the people she is closest to.

Having served women and families in the St. Charles Community for over 35 years, we have truly seen the tremendous impact that access to professional counseling can make in the life of someone facing crisis. At Birthright we believe that every woman is deserving of the type of support we seek to provide regardless of race, creed or socio-economic status, and we are grateful and blessed to have such talented and qualified counselors on our team. Each of them brings not only years of experience in a variety of settings, but a true heart for others to their irreplaceable role in our Birthright family.
